I was part of the mug club and my literal identity was dominated by that frothy liquid that filled mug #290.
Today I have a new profile picture and a new identity.
Today my profile picture is a smiley face with a blindfold that reads “the Unemployed Alcoholic,” which reminds me to never let my circumstances blind me to the joy and laughter that is all around.
Today I help people laugh with recovery and faith.
Today I am healed. I am forgiven. I am loved.
Today I am a husband, a father, a friend.
Today I am a child of God.
Today I am sober — 2 years, 9 months, 23 days sober.
